Gerardo Vila owns exceptional
qualities as a pianist and is considered to be one of the most important
pianists of his generation.
Through his artistic style, Vila has succeeded to create a synthesis
between the two “worlds” he has lived in: Buenos Aires
– a cosmopolitan city – and Europe where he resides since
1985.
During the time he was in Buenos Aires (from his birth in 1964 until
1984), he received the rich Latin American pianist tradition. Then
– since 1985 to this day - Vila has been immersed in the European
culture with all its diversity and depth.
This procedure is now crystallized in a universal vision of what Art
stands for and in an outstanding artistic maturity.
His activities as a performer are intense, be it in piano recitals,
as a soloist with orchestra or in chamber music, throughout Europe,
the United States or Latin America.
Vila has a grand experience as a performer and this allows him to
reach a vast range in his repertory: stretching from Bach to contemporary
pieces.
He dedicates his work mainly to classic and romantic master pieces,
but also extends towards Spanish and Latin American composers. |
